Brushed Concrete

Typically used as a wearing surface on external yards, a Brushed Concrete floor produces high slip resistance allowing water to drain to the falls that have been created. Brushed Concrete Floor Finishes are suitable for areas trafficked by either vehicular or foot traffic and also suitable for various types of mechanical handling plant.

Brushed Concrete

The finish is obtained by pulling a brush over the surface of the newly laid concrete floor after the surface has been levelled and begins to harden slightly. Coarseness of the brush bristles and the length and shape of the tufts governs the type of finish that will result. Minimum depths depend on the weights and loadings being applied to the surface, taking into consideration freeze thaw on external applications, the depth is usually 200mm. Drying times range between 24 hours for foot traffic and 96 hours for light traffic depending on the mix designs used. We recommend mesh or bar reinforcement in these applications due to the danger of fibres oxidising on the surface and blowing the surface
